The recent surgical single implant placement course at Local Start Dental was led by Dr. Mahmoud Serag, a seasoned dental implantology expert. The course delved into various topics and techniques, including CBCT analysis and fundamental concepts, treatment planning, bone physiology, bone density, and applied anatomy.

Participants in the course were able to learn how to diagnose and treatment plan for single implant placement, identify the process of planning implant placement virtually using implant planning software, perform tooth extraction, and achieve bone grafting techniques. They also learned how to perform different suturing styles associated with implant placement surgery.

Our surgical single implant placement course is aimed at professionals with experience who want to further their knowledge in a diverse range of implant and implant-related procedures. Here is an in-depth review of the topics covered and techniques taught during the three-day course:

Fundamental Concepts and Treatment Planning

Attendees learned the fundamental concepts of bone physiology, density, and applied anatomy. They also identified the process of planning implant placement virtually using Carestream implant planning software to determine the optimal size and positions of the implant bodies. They also learned to diagnose and make treatment plans for single implant placement units.

Extractions and Implant Placement

The course focused on performing atraumatic tooth extraction, recommended techniques, and immediate versus delayed implant placement techniques. Attendees also learned bone grafting techniques and different suturing styles associated with implant placement surgery.

Implant Osteotomy Preparation, Drilling, and Placement

The third and final day of the course was dedicated to implant osteotomy preparation, drilling, and placement. Attendees learned advanced techniques and tips for placing implants, with hands-on experience using our state-of-the-art equipment.

Restoring Implants Course

While this course focused on surgical implant placement, we also offer restoring implants courses for those who want to learn more about implant restorations and how to provide long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing results for their patients.

Hands-On Training with Local Start Dental Patients

The course also included demonstrations and supervised training on performing immediate versus delayed implant placement and membrane placement for guided bone regeneration and surgical extractions. Participants learned to use the latest implant placement techniques and technologies.

Continuing Education and Certification

The surgical single implant placement course was approved for 24 continuing education hours by the Academy of General Dentistry. This course is classified as a SAC Advanced participation course with provider ID# 413951 and is recognized as a nationally approved PACE program provider for FAGD/MAGD credit.
